Hello, GPSEN partners and friends!

As the leaves fall and we transition into winter, we, like Nature, are saving resources and preparing for a new season.

Reflecting on our annual report, we value all that GPSEN has accomplished this year, including: 1) UN Day and Launch of the Sustainable Development Goals; 2) multiple conference presentations; 3) Human Rights Day; 4) Think Tank events; 5) Earth Week art exhibit; 6) Research projects; 7) New Fellows program; 8) Grant funding for sustainability curriculum; 9) Professional development trainings; 10) World Environment Day; 11) Sustainability Social; and 12) Orientation of our new Board Members.  It has been a great year and we look forward to new opportunities.

We hope you enjoyed this year’s EcoChallenge too.  Big congratulations to NWEI for a successful event.  There were 450 teams and 8,532 participants!  Check out EcoChallenge 2016 to view our collective impact.

GPSEN’s biggest new offering will be January 20.  Save the date for our Sustainability Symposium.  The Symposium will highlight academic and community research on sustainability issues in the greater Portland region.  In addition to a keynote speaker, the event will include faculty, student, and community presentations, a poster session, tabling, trainings, and a reception.  We invite you to submit a proposal to be included in the Symposium.  Requests for Proposals for presentations are now being accepted.  More details to come!
