June is flying by, with lots of transitions.
A highlight of the last two weeks was celebrating many students in their end-of-year ceremonies and graduations. Perhaps you were able to recognize the contributions of some youth and college students in your life too. Our network had a plethora of graduates, with particular shout-outs going to past GPSEN interns and volunteers who received degrees and certificates in Civic Leadership and Community Development, from PSU. Current GPSEN stars: Keith Murphy, our website guru, graduated from PCC in Computer Science; Tia Linton, our College Network intern, got her B.A. at PSU, and Irene Bailey, a Board Member and staff at PSU’s Student Sustainability Center, not only earned her M.A., but also won a PSU Excellence in Sustainability Award as a Student Leader. Big congratulations to all of you!
We are pleased with the great response that we are receiving to our invitation to become a GPSEN Board Member, as well. If you are interested in applying or would like to encourage someone else to do so, please check out our on-line application form. We are accepting applications through July 1.
Our mid-month newsletters always have lots of updates on events and resources, so be sure to read the details below and mark your calendars.
